Get Involved
We
are a group of parents, therapists, educators and others who are
working to build a stronger sense of community among families raising
children with special needs. We have experienced the exhaustion
and sleepless nights of worry. We have experienced the struggle
of trying to find activities for our children where they can have
a positive, rewarding experience that improves their self-esteem.
And, we decided to try and create these opportunities for ourselves,
our children, and other families facing similar challenges. We
welcome anyone who is living the blessing and challenge of raising a
child with special needs, and anyone who wishes to help or get to know
families raising children with special needs.
Donations
Whole Children, Inc. is a non-profit organization under 501(c)(3) of
the IRS code. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent
of the law. We are grateful for the many people who have already
donated to Whole Children. As a non-profit, we rely on the
generosity of individuals, organizations and foundations to help us
provide affordable classes with very low teacher to student ratios and
with the kinds of environmental supports required to provide a
successful environment to children with such a wide variety of
different needs. We appreciate all donations, whether they
be in the form of money, equipment or services.

Sponsorships
For children who would benefit from our classes and services, but
whose family may not be able to afford classes, a sponsorship can
provide a child the opportunity to take a class for a reduced or waived
fee.
Volunteering
In all of our classes and programs, we rely on volunteers to help
provide the additional support needed for children of all
abilities to successfully participate. We also rely heavily
on volunteer support in our administration.
Internships
Whole Children has been host to students from Springfield
College, Mt. Holyoke College, UMass Amherst, Hampshire College and
Northampton High School. We offer opportunities to work with
children of all abilities and their families as part of our classes and
programs.
