 Learn the art of dog sledding from Marla BB.  Following a short demonstration, each participant will be able to take a ride on a dog cart pulled by her crew of dogs.  Program will be held at Northampton Meadows.  Call Whole Children (585-8010) for more information and directions.

HISTORIC DEERFIELD

Cost:  $15 for two, $30 per family

Come with your family to experience 18th Century Deerfield with hands-on activities in cooking, weaving and a hand-made craft.  Through a guided tour, you will experience the sights, sounds, and aromas of hearth cooking while learning about colonial foods and diet, learn about wool and how to use a loom, dress up in period clothes in the one-room schoolhouse and make a craft to take home with you. 

Astronomy Night For Families!
Saturday November 8, 4:30 - 6:30 pm
$15 for parent/child, $20 for family

Come and gaze at the stars with Whole Children!  We will meet at the Amherst College Planetarium at 4:30pm.  Tom Whitney, President of our local Astronomy Association will be there to conduct a planetarium show.  We will then caravan over to the Observatory for a look through the big telescope.  After an evening of star gazing, families are welcome to join each other at Bertucci's in Amherst for dinner.  Whole Children will make reservations, but you must call and let us know that you would like to attend.  (Families are responsible for their own dinner tab.)
